We've had a great week! Tuesday we had a last minute multi-zone conference introducing a new missionary program that's similar to the 12-week Training, but it's to help with adjusting to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual stresses in all phases of the mission. We're pretty excited. (:
I'd love to tell you all about some of the people we're teaching!
Sônia is a 35-ish mom of 3, Reinan (14), Ray (7), and Isabele (2). Sister Santos and I were a little lost one day looking for a shortcut when we saw the cutest little kid crying in the street. We stopped to cheer him up and he introduced us to his mom. We've been teaching her for about 3 weeks and yesterday was the first time she was able to make it to church. They all loved it! It was one of those Sundays where everything ran perfectly! We're so excited about their family!
Barbara: The other Sisters started teaching her mom, and we picked up where they left off. Barbara (who is 13) had a series of dreams about Christ in her house and scriptures with lots of colored ribbons as bookmarks (like the Personal Progress ones) when we started teaching her, but has been really hesitant about coming to church. She has gotten really involved with the youth activities and especially one of the young women in the ward. This week she told us she'll be baptized on the 9th of November. We love her!
Aaaaannnd we're running out of time! We're really excited about a Bruno who's dating a member of the ward, Tiago, Amanda and Edi, Socorro and her daughter Aline, Pamela and her brother Mateus, Albina, Solange, Cleiton, and Simone.
Thought of the week:
"Kindness is the absence of judgement."
Let's be good and do good. (:
Love, love, love,
Sister Vaughn
