So what's new? What's exciting? What's going on around here?

Everything is picking up, as it always does the last 2 or 3 weeks of the transfer. Working with our ward is finally coming together! It's been super frustrating from the get-go, being in a small ward with a little less helpful leadership, but that's to be expected when opening an area too.

There aren't too many members who live in the boundaries of our area, but we started doing short visits with a few of them to get to know them better, gain a little more trust, and help them understand their role in the work and how they can help. It has made all the difference!

So Barbara is doing great! She made a goal with Heavenly Father that she is going to finish the value of Faith in Personal Progress before her baptism on the 14th. She's already written her talk for the Young Women's program in Sacrament meeting! Love her guts.

Sônia is kind of a source of sadness at the moment. She has lots of beliefs that she grew up with that she's just not quite ready to give up yet. I think. I don't really know what's going to happen there, but this week will decide. /:

I think I mentioned Bruno's name once, but he's dating a recent convert of the church. They are getting married on December 28th at 10:00 and he'll be baptized at 12:00. They are the coolest couple!

We're teaching a new family! The mom is Leide and she has 4 grown kids: Israel, Quiteria, Maxwell (his girlfriend is Rebeca), and Rian. Leide's sister Cida and her daughter Juciara and her husband Edilson live there too. They are ALL the perfect investigator. They listen intently, ask the perfect questions, and they get it. They live on the same street as a family from the church we've been working with. New favorite thing ever: teaching a family of 9. (: More to come here. (:

Sooooooooooooo, that's about it. (:

Thought of the week:

"And I said unto them: Be not troubled, for, when all these things come to pass, ye may know that the promises which have been made unto you shall be fulfilled." -D&C45:35

Have you ever read the scriptures looking for promises? Do it. (:

Love, love, love,
Sister Vaughn
